David Bowie Homage – There’s Life On Mars is the new single from ‘Les Paul’s’ (The Paul’s) from our new and 21st album The Chelsea Hotel#1.
There’s Life On Mars is a homage to the late David Bowie and his connection to The Chelsea Hotel’s former long term resident Arthur C. Clarke who wrote 2001: A Space Odessey in his room at the hotel and references the main character in the film, Captain Bowman who Bowie would draw upon for his muse Major Tom.
The song features Captain Bowman, Major Tom and Bowie’s last album before passing away with cancer, The Black Star!

David Bowie – There’s Life On Mars lyrics
There is life on Mars and water too
The red sky there is sometimes blue
A Black Hole will swallow earth soon
A Black Hole will swallow earth soon
And then it will swallow up the moon too
And then it will swallow up the moon

A new life’s waiting 300 million miles away
It’s yours if you’ve got the money to pay
The poor and the old will have to stay
There’s no chance for them to get away
There’s no chance for them to get away
There’s no chance for them to get away

You might say we’re crazy
Aiming for the stars
You might say we’re crazy
Heading for Mars
There’s nowhere else to call home
In this universe we’re all alone
There’s nowhere else to call home
In this universe we’re all alone

Captain Bowman and Tom take the controls
They’re now in charge of all these souls
Tom says show me your money, pay to be free
Pay to be free
It’s Mars or bust I guarantee
I guarantee

Some ask to be frozen for 7 months
They can only do this trip once
There’s no way back, it’s a one way trip
There’s no way back, it’s a one way trip
The engines roar into life on this rocket ship
The engines roar into life on this rocket ship

This shiny tin can hurtles through space
There’s awe and sadness on people’s face
As we all bow to the Black Star as we pass by
We all bow to the Black Star as we pass by
We all bow to the Black Star as we pass by
Some even break down and cry

You might say we’re crazy
Aiming for the stars
You might say we’re crazy
Heading for Mars
There’s nowhere else to call home
In this universe we’re all alone
There’s nowhere else to call home
In this universe we’re all alone
