Album Linear Notes
 …………..and so, in the end, as we all played Ring-A-Ring-A-Roses, the sun exploded, musta burned itself out, happens to us all sooner or later. ‘Now who will give us light’ cries Little Bo Peep? The baker man’s Bread House is under curfew. ‘Who will put me together again’ grunts Humpty Dumpty? But from the shadows, Mr. Houdini appears & just winks & whispers, ‘I have a gut feeling that all will be well’, but Miss Peep is distraught & screams, ‘I can’t wait, I can’t wait, I want it now, and anyways, what exactly are these songs supposed to be about’? Well it’s obvious that you haven’t dived in & swam among the rhythms & waves and I can’t tell you exactly what they’re all ‘about’ but I know that some are three, some are four and some are even ‘about’ 5 minutes or more! …….. Suddenly Peter Pan arrives on the scene like a puff of smoke & he has crocodile tears running down his face & he’s moaning that he can’t get time’s tick-tock noise outta his head & he’s shaking like a nervous wreck & his hair’s starting to turn white – ‘Just take a spoonful of sugar’ suggests Miss Poppins as Peter and his shadow hobble and stroll down the avenue past Fred singing & dancing in the rain that’s washing the yellow offa the brick road, revealing its true colour. ‘It’s a hard rain’ & ‘It’s a political world’ says The Jester as he blows up Tin Pan Alley. In his room, the President is naked & on the wall Bambi’s been stuffed & mounted – ‘Force & power are the answer’ screams Georgie Porgie till he turns red then blue in the face & falls among the black body bags on the lawn with eagles singing the anthem, ‘O Land of Greed & Lust’. Father Xmas is doing time for liking little boys & girls too much but is awaiting the Pope’s forgiveness, in the street all the signs point the wrong way. Alice is day tripping & Miss Muffet’s in porn, the air’s burning, the sea’s rising over King Canute & ‘What’s my philosophy’ you ask? Well, it’s ‘Do unto others’, or sometimes it’s, ‘Don’t do unto others’, depending on what it is they’re trying to do to you & I’ve said all this while standing on one leg! This is just a bit about what these songs are ‘about’, the rest you’ll just have to work out for yourself over time.
