Our ‘Les Paul’s’ (The Paul’s) just released new song Scared of America is not meant to be anti-American but it just depicts how America looks to a Brit across the pond who has never been there and if you listen to the last 2 lines of the final chorus you will hear, ‘Where would we be without you America, God bless, America!
We tried to get that Bowie spirit and sound in the song although it’s not exactly the same as his ‘I’m Afraid of American’s’ song from his 1997 album ‘Earthlings’, it is more contemporary and you can watch the video promo HERE.

An American friend recently asked me on Facebook if I hated America? No, I don’t hate America, here is my reply: ‘I don’t hate The USA. but maybe the families of the estimated 20 million people killed by The USA since WW2 ended (read HERE) do hate the USA.
I do hate that The USA, particularly under your 7th elected President Andrew Jackson, stole the indigenous Indians’ land, caused over 16,000 men, women and children to die on the ‘Trial of Tears’ and he Jackson, personally oversaw the slaughtering of over 200, children, women and men of the Creek Indian tribe and then he introduced the ‘Indian Removal Act’ to ‘legally’ steal the Indians land from them, while all the while keeping slaves on his plantations and then ‘Annexed’ Texas, taking it from Mexico after initially suffering a defeat and the death of the great Frontiersman Davy Crockett at The Battle of Alamo. Not forgetting the 100,000’s of innocent Japanese civilians killed by The USA at Hiroshima and Nagasaki or the tens of thousands of innocent civilians killed in Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan as well as the Berkeley and other university students killed for daring to protest the Vietnam war. Also the fact that your government didn’t initially lift a finger to help the poor black population of New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina hit, even your President Bush couldn’t bare to go and personally offer his help but instead flew overhead in a helicopter as he was peeved that his holiday had been cut short by the disaster, or the young poor and unarmed black men killed almost daily now on your streets by your great police force, no, I don’t hate The USA, but maybe these victims relatives and ancestors do!
(You can listen about some of the above in our new song ‘An American Landscape’ that will be out soon HERE.

Scared of America Lyrics
Scared of America
Scared of America
I’m scared of America
That Alpha Male
I’m scared of America
With that sting in it’s tail

I stepped on a compass
And found myself here
On a bus in Vegas
An American nightmare

I’m scared of America
It’s too big for me
I’m scared of America
Trapped in the ‘Land of The Free’

Corruption on Capitol Hill
Discrimination way down south
So many are ready to kill
You’d better not open your mouth

I’m scared of America
Moma’s got a gun
I’m scared of America
And so has her son

Jesus was American
So Hollywood maintains
Maybe he was Mexican
That sneaked in on the train

Follow the American Dream
Do the John Wayne walk
Gotta have plenty of Greens
Coz here money talks, money talks, money talks

I’m scared of America
I know you couldn’t care less
Where would we be without you
America, God bless, America
